Aloha Parents/Guardians,
The fourth-grade team has been hard at work improving our distance learning schedule. We had anticipated our students to return on campus after the 4 weeks upon reopening the school year. Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 distance learning has been extended through October 2nd, which is the ending of the first quarter. The 4th grade teachers created a new schedule as we felt it was essential to include an engaging academic experience of direct instruction using our Wonders and GoMath curriculum on our Google Meets platform.
This new schedule will start September 14th. We will be having students complete spelling/grammar packets, Wonder’s workbooks, and GoMath practice workbooks. These packets and workbooks will be corrected virtually during our designated meeting times.
The packets and workbooks will be made available for pick up at the school starting September 8 to September 11. Pick up times are between 7:30 AM-3:30 PM with Mr. Tyler. He will be sitting at the front of the school by the stairs. Please tell him your child’s name and room number to receive the packet. Thank you for all your patience, support, and understanding as we all adapt to these new changes.

Monday, August 17 for those who had requested to borrow a chromebook, you will be arriving to campus at your scheduled pick up time. Parent and child need to be present in signing forms. We ask parents to wait in the car, and send your child up to their homeroom teacher to minimize the traffic flow of people coming onto campus for safety reasons. Once your child arrives at their scheduled pick up appointment, we will take 10-15 minutes to go over rules and help them logging onto their google account. We will then walk your child down to your car and have you sign the form as well.
For students who have not requested to borrow a chromebook, please have your child log into every program with the student usernames and passwords. We ask that your child DOES NOT start on any assignments, lessons, or diagnostic tests at the moment. We would just like your child to make sure they are able to log in successfully in each program.

- Tuesday, August 18 We will be having our first virtual google meeting at 8:00 AM. Your child must be logged into their Alvah Scott Google Account to gain access Enter HOMEROOM classroom.
- Wednesday, August 19 Students will take i-ready Reading Diagnostic Test
- Thursday, August 20 Students will take i-ready Math Diagnostic Test
- Friday, August 21 Statehood Holiday No School
Aloha Parents,
As you know by now the State has postponed the first day of students to August 17t due to Covid 19. However school schedule will be very different this school year.
If your child is placed in the DREAMS group, official start date will be August 17,2020.
If your child is placed in the BELIEVES group, official start date will be August 18,2020.
Students in the DREAMS group will be attending school Monday and Wednesday.
Students in the BELIEVES group will be attending school Tuesday and Thursday.
Fridays will be a alternating schedule between the DREAMS and BELIEVES groups.
I know this year will be very different for all of us. It is my goal to ensure that your child has a safe, healthy, and fun learning environment. I look forward to having your child in my class!
