Welcome to Mrs. Kosaki's Page!
Aloha Room 11 Ohana!
Welcome to First Grade! I am Mrs. Kosaki and I will be your child's teacher this 2024-2025 school year! I am very excited to have all of you in my class this year and I know we will have a wonderful year together!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a proud Alvah Scott Elementary alumni and attended Alvah Scott from Kindergarten through grade 5. I have been teaching for 36 years...35 of those years at wonderful Alvah Scott! My mother and grandmother were both teachers at Alvah Scott, and I spent many summers helping my mother in her classroom, which is where I believe my love for teaching began.
I live in Aiea with my husband and two grown sons. My older son Brent is an accountant, and my younger son, Jared has one more year at Purdue University, pursuing his Masters in Structural Engineering. I love cooking, fishing, walking and spending time with my family.
It was wonderful meeting your families at our Meet N Greet on Thursday night! Thank you for bringing your child's school supplies and labeling each item with his/her name.
If you have not done so already, please make sure you purchase a "Planner" for your child.
Drop off and pick up: Morning drop off will be in front of the "big stairs". School begins at 7:50 (tardy bell rings at 7:55), so please try to be in class by that time. You may drop your child off and he/she can walk up to class. I will be there waiting for them. :)
Afternoon pick up: School is dismissed at 2:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesday dismissal is at 1:15. I will be walking the children down the lanai for the first week of school and will have them sit and wait by the "big stairs". You may either drive up by the big stairs to pick up your child or designate a meeting place where you and your child would like to meet. Please display the YELLOW sign with your child's name in your car window as you drive to pick up your child. I will give each child 1 yellow sign on the first day of school. If you need more signs, please ask. Thank you!
I will be connecting each of our families to my CLASS DOJO site. Please be on the look out for the "invite" and please "accept. Please let me know if you are having trouble getting on to Class Dojo.
Please check your Class Dojo daily as I will be communicating through this venue, our school website alvahscott.org. and your child's Planners. Thank you parents!
I am so excited to be a part of your child's social, emotional and educational journey this year! Please remember that my lines of communication are always open...please feel free to contact me at any time.
Mahalo,
Mrs. Kosaki
