About Technology

Aloha!

 

My name is Ms. Minello and I am the Technology Coordinator as well as the Video Club advisor. This is my 21th year at Alvah Scott Elementary School.  I love working here at Alvah Scott, and I continue to keep up with the ever changing technologies that come my way.  It's always fun and exciting to learn new programs in coding or AI.  

 

We continue to provide programs such as ConnectED, Imagine Learning, iReady, IXL, GoMath, Tynker and CODE.ORG.  To keep our students safe, we have purchased a student monitoring program called GoGuardian.  This will help us determine if students are staying on sites that are assigned to them, and also to keep them safe.  If a student visits sites outside of our programs or inappropriate sites, it will give the tech department a warning, and parents or guardian will be notified.  Thank you for your appropriate behavior when using Alvah Scott equipment and Alvah Scott google accounts.

 

Technology is certainly moving forward year to year, so we must all take care of the devices and software etc. It is my goal to assist staff and students to become both knowledgable and comfortable using technology here at Alvah Scott and in the future.
